2 NIC deployement Issue

Asked by Savanna

Hi,

I am using fuel installer for openstack. I gave eth0 as defualt for pxe boot and eth1 for my other netwroks, say, public/floating. Then should the two interfaces run DHCP(dnsmasq) - also when I install grizzly on ubuntu on both slaves, they get an IP for pxe bootvia DHCP and in further installation on slaves in "configuring DHCP", it fails with an error which says"network auto configiration failed". It is actually looking for DHCP on both interfaces.(I simply connected eth1 to the port meant for eth0(alongside eth0) and then installation continued. It means that slave nodes DHCP is looking for both eth0 and eth1 which is odd, because eth0 is the defiualt for pxe boot. I am unable to understand why it is looking for DHCP on eth1 also.) Can anyone let me know why it is looking for DHCP on both interfaces and what can be done?

Thank you.

The information you provided is not enough to answer your question.

We need to know which version of Fuel are you using, what is your environment and network topology, what is the configuration on your cloud, which type of OpenStack networking are you trying to use and so on...

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask Savanna for more information if necessary.
