Free memory just 4096 MB

I want to make a large render but fr0st shows I just have 4096 MB of Free Memory, I assume this to be RAM because my GPU iirc has less (GTX 550 Ti) and my SSD has a lot more free space, but I have 16GB RAM installed and about 11,4 GB of free RAM.

is there a way to fix that?
