Trouble Importing Data into Financisto

Asked by Ayaz Malik

I have been trying to import data through CSV file, but it adds a lot of junk transactions as well, dating back to 1970 with zero amounts (about 30-40 of transactions are added for about 20 transactions). Also, it does not take care of the transfers, i.e., the transfers are treated as transactions without updating other account. Can you please tell me what format of CSV should I follow. I followed the exact format as used by the exported CSV file.

Thanks

Update: I did use QIF import feature and even that is causing problems with the Category n Project stuff, i.e., projects are added but transactions and reports do not show respective projects. Also, impossible to add new categories after import as these become sub-categories of one particular sub-category. I am now going to try to import QIF in HomeBank first and then export it to Financisto.

If the date of a transaction is not incorrect, please check that the date format in the CSV file matches the option you choose in CSV import screen
For a transfer A->B there should be 2 separate lines in CSV file - one for A, one for B
