Pending transaction not affecting account balance

Is there any way to mark a transaction in a way that it would not affect the account balance?

I would like to use it for various "pending" payments, I would like to be able to record transaction, but until cleared it should not affect the account balance so that I can compare it against the bank statement online.

Maybe just add a new status, say "unrealized" make sure anything with that status doesn't affect the balance.
