format of backup

Asked by John Bolger on 2010-12-10

Good work folks,

I'm looking to find out the format of your backups. If I know this then I should be able to get linux based KMyMoney to export in that format. This will allow me to bring in the data that I have entered there over the years.

If you don't have something that describes the format then, some examples or failing that a pointer into the code.

Thanks,
John.

Database backup is a 1-to-1 content of database tables translated into the text file.
Every row of every table translated into somethink like this:

$ENTITY:<table>
<column>:<value>
<column>:<value>
...
$$

You can check the logic here: http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~financisto-dev/financisto/trunk/annotate/head:/src/ru/orangesoftware/financisto/backup/DatabaseExport.java

Let me know please if you'd like to know more about the database schema.

Can you help with this problem?
