Deformable membrane between two moving fluids

Asked by Alexandra Diem

I would like to use FEniCS for my PhD in a CFD application in medical research. I am modelling what is going on at the walls of arteries, so i need to have a membrane in between two fluids, one of which is blood. The blood flow will be modelled during systole, i.e. the blood vessel wall shall be expandable. Is that possible? So far I have had trouble finding a library that will be able to simulate deformable boundaries like that blood vessel wall. Can FEniCS do that? I would largely prefer that over having to use a commercial CFD package. Thank you!
