date folders

Asked by Kasper Niemann

By looking at the config I've spotted an option called date. I'm assuming this sorts images according to the date - is this according to the computers date/time settings or EXIF date from the taken images?

date_folders/date_format? That's the date the transfer took place (computer time), not the EXIF date.

You couldn't make it so it read the EXIF data?

Sorry, I was just looking at a few different EXIF scripts and stumbled across this one as being the one I liked the most - and was curious as to how you'd implemented it, and if not if you had planned on doing it in that way - or possibly to give the user the ability to choose?

Sure one could implement that. I'll see if I can hack up something. If you want to be the one to do it,
at http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~jordens/eyefi/trunk/view/head:/eyefi/server.py#L173 you could either have a look at tarinfo.mtime or move the files after extracting based on the exif timestamp.

Can you help with this problem?
