When biling a patron, can I change the default billing type? Also, can I edit the name of the billing type?

Asked by Mark Massey

We want the Billing Type: drop down box default option to be blank (require staff to select a category to continue) instead of the current Misc category.
Also, can I edit Misc to display as MISC *PLEASE ADD NOTE!
Is this something I can change or should I submit a help ticket?
Thanks!

Hi Mark,

Users with appropriate permissions can edit and create new billing types by going to Administration --> Server Administration --> Billing Types. You can specify that these new billing types are just for your org unit (location) or for the consortium.

Note that renaming an existing consortium-wide billing type like "Misc" will propagate that change to the whole consortium.

I am unsure about whether you can default the selection to blank; that is a question to ask your service provider or system administrator.

Hello Andrea,

Thank you for the information on editing and creating billing types. It's helpful to know that users with the appropriate permissions can manage billing types in the Administration section. I appreciate your note about renaming consortium-wide billing types and the suggestion to inquire about setting a default selection.

Regarding<a href="https://fescobillonline.pk/fesco-services/">track bill online</a>
, if you're looking for a way to efficiently manage and track your bills, you might consider using an online bill tracking tool or software. Many online platforms and financial management apps offer bill tracking features to help you stay organized and up-to-date with your payments. These tools can be a convenient way to keep track of your bills and manage your finances effectively.

Best regards,
