Mobile carrier request irrelevant

Asked by Rodrigo Ocejo

My library in Westchester County, NY (westchesterlibraries.org) asks me every time I want to put a book on hold the way in which I want to be notified. It offers me email, home phone, and mobile home.

There are two problems with the mobile phone option, (1) it never preloads my number, which I think given everyone handles their life through a cell phone these days, should be a must and (2) the weirdest thing is that it requires my mobile carrier. I have NO idea why this would be useful in 2023, maybe it is a legacy issue from many years ago.

Would you guys consider correcting that? Or hiding it and making it optional for libraries to decide?

Thanks!
