Eucalyptus

could not see log files, build Eucalyptus using source

Hi
  I have installed ubuntu 9.04 (32 bit) version. I have build Eucalyptus using source. i have followed the steps mentioned in the document "http://eucalyptus.cs.ucsb.edu/wiki/EucalyptusSourceCodeInstallation_v1.4"

but after building and started eucalyptus in front end server, I could not see log files as well as when I tried to access "https://localhost:8443", I got the message "can't establish the connection...".

Any body has any idea how I can resolve this issue?
