how can one translate?

Asked by Kamil Páral

You have "restricted translation policy" and have not set any translators group, therefore everyone who wants to translate must be in the "Extreme Tux Racer" group. So here's the question - how can one translate? Should he apply for group membership and it will be granted to him? What about to open translations for everyone, like many projects have?

If you look and the translation statistics:
you have hundreds and hundreds of suggestions for new translation, but noone to approve them, especially in some languages. That's really a waste of energy spent by those translators.

So, do you plan to change your policy? Or do you have some other approach?

Kamil is right. I'm also willing to do the translations but the policies you've set are blocking me. Just let open translations for everyone and things can go smoothly.

sorry for responding so late.
I have just asked the Launchpad administrators to create a new translation group for us.
Of course, previously people willing to translate one language just applied for our team.
I will post here new information when possible.
