re-start from check point

Asked by Pablo Cid on 2019-12-31

Hi everyone,

I'm currenrly working on a simualtion a bit large and the PC i'm working with is not available for more than 2 days in a row so the option to resume a simulation from a checkpoint would come in handy.
I have tryed with the following comand

sim.createCheckPointerWriteThroughMaster(
 RestartCheckPointPrms(
  fileNamePrefix='Restart_checkPoint_batea',
  beginTimeStep=0,
  endTimeStep=sim.getNumTimeSteps(),
  timeStepIncr=12500
 )
)

but it only create one file "Restart_checkPoint_batea_t=X_0.txt" at a time, so aftes a few hours I got a bunch of checkpoint files
"Restart_checkPoint_batea_t=0_0.txt"
"Restart_checkPoint_batea_t=12500_0.txt"
"Restart_checkPoint_batea_t=25000_0.txt"
"Restart_checkPoint_batea_t=37500_0.txt"
......
inside those files are the names of other check pont files like in an usual checkpoint, but my directory does not have any of them, namly: "Restart_checkPoint_batea_t=0_1.txt", "Restart_checkPoint_batea_t=0_2.txt"......

I'm working with a configuration of 6 workers, so I should get 7 files at a time. Does someone know what I'm doing wrong or if there is an around way to resume a simulation from a checkpoint??

Thanks and sorry if my english is not as good as it should be
