rotational kinetic energy

Asked by Shen Weigang

Dear ESyS-Particle developers and users:
I have a (maybe stupid) question about the linear kinetic energy and rotational kinetic energy.
First of all, I'm using ESys-Particle V.2.3.2.
I'm simulating the impact of a spherical particles block on a layer of particles which are seted non-dynamic and non-rotational. Before impacting, the velocity of the spherical block is constant. In addition, the gravity is neglected.
Unfortunately, I found that the total rotational kinetic energy of the particles is larger than the initial linear kinetic energy.
What should i do to solve this problem?
Thanks a lot for your help!
Best Regards
Shen
