read partial of data of a NetCDF variable

Hi,

I am using escript with NetCDF data. At the moment I am cutting the necessary block of data from a large NetCDF file to an individual NetCDF file and then ask escript to read it by using NetCdfData class.
 I am wondering is there a way to read only part of data from a NetCDF file directly in escript? Thanks.
