Cannot run command on particular client

Asked by Antanas Budriūnas

There are some PCs running Ubuntu 12.04 and one PC with Bodhilinux 2.4 (ubuntu based lightweight distro). I can execute commands through the Epoptes menu 'Clients>Execute>Execute' on Ubuntu clients but not on Bodhilinux client. Also a terminal which opens through 'Clients>Execute>Open terminal>User, localy' did not functioning.
All other Epoptes features including 'Open terminal>root, localy' acts on both groups of clients.
Which setting should I change?

Thanks in advance.

1) Login to the bodhi client and open a terminal. Run:
/usr/sbin/epoptes-client

2) Go to the controlling PC and open the Epoptes GUI. Does everything work correctly now?

If so, then it's a problem with bodhi not launching items from /etc/xdg/autostart...

Dear Alkis,

thank you for the response.
Your presumption is absolutely correct.
What should I take next?

Close this question, and file a bug report against Bodhi Linux, mentioning that it should be autolaunching things from /etc/xdg/autostart... :)

In the meantime you might be able to launch epoptes-client from /etc/profile, or, contact the Bodhi developers for a workaround...

OK. I'm closing this question and follow your suggestion.
Thanks again :)

P. S. Strange thing because I'm reading examples of starting applications exactly from /etc/xdg/autostart in bodhi forums.

I got an answer from Bodhi Linux forum.
The Bodhi way:
From main menu go to 'Settings→Settings Panel→Apps→Startup Applications' and add 'Epoptes client' (or another desired application) to the list. Reboot.
