.Deb Installer

Asked by EagleDM

Good program but it desperatly needs a .deb installer that can handle dependencies for easy use for the rest of us.

It shouldn't be hard to do an installer and you can even gain repository approval for Hardy, as of now the program is hardly usable for a novice user and being that this is one of the richier and prettier programs out there for media-center ussage, it will do more good than harm to have an installer.

EagleDM, we are well aware of this issue and it is one of our priorities for the next release (see Bug #232365 and Bug #236714). We are also working on a lot of stuff "under the hood" so that the code is more maintainable and so we can get things done faster.

Please keep in mind that this is pre-alpha software and is targeted mainly at developers or users who know how to install dependencies (or can follow instructions like https://answers.launchpad.net/entertainer/+question/39028).

All the developers would agree with you that we need a .deb as soon as possible, but these things take time to do them correctly. Thanks for your comment.
