Eloquent

What prevents the latest build from having Universal Binary, and thus Tiger/Leopard, support?

I have a range of machines (iMac G3, iMac G4 and Power Mac G5) that I would like to use Eloquent on, but only the older MacSword software is available for PowerPC. Would there be any way for me to compile the latest builds on PowerPC with Tiger and Leopard support?
