Copy and Paste Modifier Keys in Eloquent?
Hello, due to problems I am currently having with the "Online Bible" app under beta versions of macOS Sierra, a few hours ago I downloaded Eloquent 2.5.1 and 2.6 beta.
I have now installed some modules, explored its basic functions, and learned how to open books and switch chapters, as well as how to use the Hebrew and Greek lexicons and other modules I installed. It is a lot different from Online Bible, but I can get used to it.
However, one thing which I have not figured out yet -- which I very much like with the Online Bible app -- is how to copy and paste Bible verses -- either a single verse, or a range of verses, contiguous or non-contiguous -- into my Mac's clipboard, or into a BBEdit text file.
I don't know how familiar you are with Online Bible, but for many years now, it has had a function key which is by default set to command-7.
When command-7 is typed, if it is not already running, the Online Bible app will be launched, and then a small "Copy Verses" window appears on your screen.
The user can then type in a 3-character book reference, followed by the chapter and verses, for either a single verse, or a group of verses. Even non-contiguous verses can be added by separating the references with commas.
Then one just clicks the OK button, and the verses are copied into the macOS clipboard. There is even a preference there so you can direct Online Bible to automatically paste the verses into a particular text editor, such as BBEdit, which is what I do everyday.
In more recent versions of the Online Bible app, this copy and paste functionality has also been added to the app's "Services" menu. You just have to set it up by enabling it in the Keyboard preferences pane under Keyboards/Services.
Anyway, unless the Mac version of Online Bible is fixed soon and made compatible with macOS Sierra -- I've been using Online Bible for many years now -- I will continue using your app. However, I really do need this copy and paste function, as it is a real time-saver.
If this functionality is already available in Eloquent, please advise me how to use it. One thing I did notice is that online tutorial help for Eloquent is rather sparse. I did go to the wiki page, but it doesn't really explore all of Eloquent's various functions, buttons and menu items.
However, if Eloquent does not yet possess this copy and paste functionality, would you seriously consider adding it sometime soon?
Much appreciated, and kind regards,
Bill Kochman
