What's the status of the default-settings package in the transition to github?

Is this package going to move to github, will these defaults be incorporated into their respective packages as initial settings, or is there another plan?

I'm really happy with the move to git; I find the pull request and integration of issues, etc to be very convenient. Can't wait for the rest of the project to make the move!
