Replace the "Applications" text in wingpanel

Hi,

Can I replace the "Applications" text on the wingpanel with a icon in Elementary OS Loki? The method used in Freya don't work in Loki.

Judging by the code (http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~elementary-pantheon/slingshot/trunk/files), the answer appears to be "no". That label is hardcoded. I'm sorry.
