Internet Speed is very slow

Asked by Sunny

Hi Team,

I have a good internet connection with 8Mbps speed limit. When I download a file on windows on my laptop I get an average of 700-800 KBps speed.Where in when I try to download the same file on Freya, I just receive 30-70 KBps speed.I tried disabling IP6 , reinstalling Broadcom drivers etc. ButBut nothing helped.
Need your immediate support in getting this issue solved.
I love the OS and don't want to go back to something else.

Kindly let me know if you need more details on the same.
I'm a newbie to Linux and so if you need some details from the Kernel do add the commands which can get the information you need.

Thanks again !!

Sunny.

Hi,

I'm not facing the issue now after I have changed the IPV6 settings to IGNORE state.

Also, there is one cute cleaner program for Linux called 'Bleachbit'.Install it from the terminal and clean the log files and other junk after restarting the system.

Now,I'm receiving a whooping speed of 900KBPS download.

Problem Solved.
