wingpanel icons

Asked by Pranav

Pardon my limited knowledge about file systems. Where does wingpanel take icons from for third party applications, for example - dropbox, everpad(evernote client), etc. Also, is wingpanel configured in a way that it will choose between icons for a 24*24px icon (I am assuming that is the default size of icons there) if there is one?

Most all icons can be found under /usr/share/icons/
For the wingpanel icons, I'd take a look in /usr/share/icons/elementary/panel/ and /usr/share/icons/elementary/status/

I am interested in third party application icons for wingpanel. Are they stored in a specific location or my best bet is finding them in the application directory?
What I am trying to do is replace some of these third party icons with ones that match the size and feel of elementary default panel icons. :)
