After installation of UbuntuOne Client all you need is two more steps.

1. Add this PPA "ppa:rye/ubuntuone-extras" (from https://launchpad.net/~rye/+archive/ubuntuone-extras) and install "indicator-ubuntuone". It works like a charm in wingpanel.

2. Make sure to enable UbuntuOne plugin in Pantheon-Files to have a visual feedback on sync status.

ok for some reason the install didn't work on the live cd but did on a proper install. I didn't have to install anything more. What is this plugin for pantheon-files you're talking about? Is it to add right clicking options to Files?
