elementary brand

There were some indications that a new brand for elementary was going to be announced after UDS. I wonder if the announcement took place and I just overlooked it or if no decision has been made yet. I hope the project doesn't abandon the "e" logo which is easily identifiable and carries a strong symbolic meaning. Otherwise, if a new logo is decided, it hope it carries similar attributes to the existing one.

Nope, you haven't missed anything! Whatever the announcement is, it's still secret.. to our chagrin.

The problem about the "e" is that it has little to no symbolic meaning.
The brand was supposed to be released after UDS, but it didn't happen. The work is still going on, but I expect the result to match the highest of my expectations. And don't expect it just yet, it might take one more month to complete... or more.

There was no promise that a new brand would be released after UDS. We had plans to talk about our branding and identity, but it got sidetracked with all the other discussion that was happening around upstream collaboration, code quality, etc.

An announcement will be made if/when a new brand and identity is established.
