Gnumeric page

Asked by Anas Ramadan

Why there's no active page for Gnumeric in Launchpad?
Gnumeric is an important part of elementaryOS.
Actually, I posted some ideas for this application here:
http://www.linuxfuture.org/2011/07/gnumeric-and-html/
And I want to register these ideas as blueprints here.

Gnumeric is not developed by elementary project. It belongs to GNOME and it uses GNOME infrastructure.

Moreover, elementary developers are not interested in it since the decision to not include any office applications on the next version. While it's a great app and I use it myself extensively, it's not something we can ship or even support in elementary OS.

Gnumeric homepage is http://projects.gnome.org/gnumeric/

Belive me, I can imagine an OS without an independent word processor, but not without a spreadsheet application!
You reminded me of this discussion:
https://blueprints.launchpad.net/elementaryos/+spec/abiword-alternative
Office applications are fading out now in favor of web applications. But user still need a light weight word-processor or note editor.
Comparing to others I know, Zim is the best.

Can you help with this problem?
