Occasional System Freezes during "Suspend"

Asked by Andre Salvatierra

While I've only been using elementary OS for a good week, it's had more than its share of system freezes whenever I suspend my system - that is, mostly going *into* suspend, as opposed to coming out of it - at the very least once a day (suspend's something that I do a lot).

When the freeze happens, the system never really powers down to a completely suspended state; the power indicator light remains as it would if it were normally powered up.

I'm more inclined to think that this somehow more related to eOS than it is to the underlying Ubuntu 10.10, since I've used a vanilla Maverick installation for a few months, and didn't experience anything at this rate.

For reference, this is on an Acer Aspire 4736.

It might be caused by Preload I think. I don't think we changed anything else that might cause such issues.

I have the same issue - on an Acer C720P with Haswell proc. And this is four years later. Regression issue? I'm running Elementary Freya stable version that just came out.

Can you help with this problem?
