Purple is probably not going to be added because it's being rewritten in GTK3 and Vala under the name of Lingo.

A new Plymouth theme is in the works (I'm the Plymouth guy in here X) ), but its design is not yet finalized. It will be added as soon as there's something working.

Shnatsel is correct. I am not going to update Purple for use in Natty/Luna. Lingo, its replacement, will however be available for both of those platforms. It will work with the existing Purple database and transition automatically.
