How to upgrade Elementary os

I was going to use the elementary os dev ppa to test the new apps and report bugs but I noticed that slingshot is only available in natty. I also noticed that you guys said not to use the update manager to upgrade to natty. Is there a simple way I can update elementary os to use the natty packages or should I just install natty and add the ppa?

Slingshot is only available for Natty because in depends on newer libraries than Maverick can provide. I tried to compile it for Maverick using PPA dependencies, but it fails to build and I have more important things to do than backporting Slingshot.

Maverick-to-Natty upgrade is know to mess up the system, and elementary OS upgraded to Natty is twice the mess. I strongly recommend to make a clean install of Natty, it's quite buggy even without distribution upgrades.
