Does EHCP support SuPhp

Asked by Dane Drake

Hey Guys,

I have recently install EHCP which is a great C=Panel. However, i would like to know does EHCP support Suphp, if so is there any documentation that explains how to install it. The most important reason for my question is that i deal mostly with Joomla and Wordpress CMS`s, and having to give folders etc 777 permissions, poses a security threat. Suphp, solves all theses permissions issues, as i use to run ISP Config 3.
Please advsie, once again, i would like to say thank you, as EHCP is indeed, the best opensource c-panel out there.

You prompt response will be greatly appreciated.

I'm not 100% sure, but I can't find any certain answer it will work. I can add it to my test log as a side project if you would like.

Hi,

Thank you, for the prompt reply. I see that the link that you refered me to was posted in 2007. Would that then mean that the latest EHCP download, already has the Suphp installed / or included in the installation.

Thanks,

as its homepage says:
"suPHP is a tool for executing PHP scripts with the permissions of their owners. It consists of an Apache module (mod_suphp) and a setuid root binary (suphp) ..."

so, it is an apache module.
ehcp is transparent to apache or other system level programs (mostly)
so, I think you can install suphp normally, and enable it in apache configs of ehcp.

if the question becomes: is it installed by default with ehcp ? I checked now, No, not installed.
that post ehcp.net site is old and suphp is not installed by default, AFAIK
