Regarding 3G modem and support

I was trying to add a 3G SIM in the SIM slot provided.
The SIM did not get detected.I was going through
some online documents.but it is not clear whether the
3G modem is present in the model I have.So,my question
is
(i)Does it have a 3G modem? .By the way,we got the book
at the Linaro conference/UDS.
(ii)If it has a modem any pointers to documents regarding
setting it up.

"lsmod" will tell you if the 3G module is present. It gets loaded through the "option" driver.

We have not sold any 3G units yet (they do not arrive until next week) so it is doubtful you have a 3G version.

As for setup, NetworkManager will list "Mobile Broadband" in it's context menu from the GNOME panel. You can simply go through the wizard to create a connection. It's all automated.
