Can I encrypt a subdirectory of my subversion working directory?

Can I encrypt a subdirectory of my subversion working directory and then use it on another host with the same working directory? Any restrictions to ensure the unencrypted files are not shown in the clear?

I think the solution is in the various docs here. I'm considering this as solved for the moment.
