Building and installing ecryptfs kernel module on 2.6.18.8-xen

I have a problem working with old kernel module 2.6.18.8-xen and kernel can't be updated. Is it possible to build and install ecryptfs kernel module on kernel 2.6.18.8-xen? If that is possible, how it is done? Guest operating system is Ubuntu server Jaunty 9.04.

eCryptfs landed in the Linux kernel in 2.6.19.

Hence, it would be very difficult (in my opinion) to backport it.

That said, I do believe that Red Hat did so for RHEL5.3 or RHEL5.4 (I
think). You might try to grab the source for the RHEL5 or CentOS5
kernel.
