Add .MOV support?

Asked by Hso

Are there any plans to add downloadable QuickTime codecs to easyUbuntu?

Also, some websites(for example, www.advfilms.com) have embedded video files, i select Windows Media, but i cannot view them, however, I can wget and watch them without any problems at all.. any ideas why it doesn't want to display? The odd thing is that streams in google video and youtube work just fine! meh :(

One last thing.. everytime i installed the regular stuff in easyubuntu(I'm using LiveCD 5.10 Breezy), I always see the following.. all these messages seem so negative, but as far as I know, all the installed stuff works fine..('cept for the preview stream problem)..

ubuntu@x1-6-00-11-d8-49-02-26:~/easyubuntu$ sudo python easyubuntu.py
['/usr/sbin/synaptic', '--hide-main-window', '--non-interactive', '-o=dir::etc=/home/ubuntu/easyubuntu/conf', '-o=dir::etc::sourcelist=sources.list']
In update ['/usr/sbin/synaptic', '--hide-main-window', '--non-interactive', '-o=dir::etc=/home/ubuntu/easyubuntu/conf', '-o=dir::etc::sourcelist=sources.list', '--update-at-startup']

Hello,

You can get all kind of media support under linux, it is not free of course but you can get it. EasyUbuntu still has problems but fortunately in some way works.

In order to make a perfect install just follow this Wiki page
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/RestrictedFormats
