Wget Download Script

Asked by Aliby

Wget download script generation would enable "offline installation" somewhat. Without this I cannot benefit from this very helpful tool

Scenario:
Having a low band width on my ubuntu machine I use offline installs with Synaptic. I can easily sellect what I want ot install, and hten use the menu option "create download script" which generates a complete script calling "wget" to access all the files required. (I actually download the files on a windwos box at work. Using "dpkg-scanpackages" and "apt-get update" in a script I refresh my "local" repository and can then install those apps using Synaptic.

At the moment if I knew all the packages EasyUbuntu wants to install I could possibly work around this problem and use synaptic to get the required files as discribed above. Will EasyUbuntu still want ot download the packages?

Request:
EasyUbuntu should be able to generate a "wget" download script for the packages it wants to install.

Hello,

I see your request, but I think you should contact easyubuntu developers. Go to irc.freenode.net to #kubuntu and there search for robotgeek, he is one of the easyubuntu developers and he could help you.
