When will come out EasyUbuntu for Ubuntu 7.04?

Asked by Edmund Laugasson

Already couple of weeks are Ubuntu 7.04 out and still at EasyUbuntu's web page is written, that it supports Dapper/Edgy. There is known, that it works (sometimes partially) also with Ubuntu 7.04.

As we problably know, there are some tutorials, how to install proprietary software (codecs, etc):
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RestrictedFormats
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Medibuntu

I already noticed, that Ubuntu 7.04 has universe and multiverse repositories enabled by default. It would be nice if easyubuntu package will be also available through these repositories. It seems like http://packages.ubuntu.com/does not show easyubuntu.

I also noticed, that the package ubuntu-restricted-extras is available - why not to make easyubuntu available through universe/multiverse repositories? And make sure, that everything will work and always newest stable version will be installed each of package.

As you know this is Alpha version. It was made for a test. Not for using as normal program. I advise you to wait for stable verion of EasyUbuntu. You will avoid problem because of Alpha version.

Hi,

This looks like a great project. I just tried the install and it failed -- It was operator error.
In my haste I read support for Dapper/Edgy and didn't clue that implicitly that meant Feisty Fawn is not supported.

May I suggest to add a sentence after the mention of Dapper/Edgy support -- Feisty (aka. Ubuntu 7.04) is not yet supported.

I volunteer to help test on Feisty when you team is ready.

Martin

Here's the partial error dump:

File "/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/_xmlplus/dom/expatbuilder.py", line 924, in parse

fp = open(file, 'rb')
IOError
:
[Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/usr/lib/easyubuntu/packagelist-feisty.xml'
