totem on blacklist?

Asked by jsandys

I installed the DVD support with EasyUbuntu, now when I use the Ubuntu update, it lists totem as not to be updated. I assume that EasyUbuntu revised totem and put it on the blacklist to prevent the revision from being over written. Is this the case?

The DVD support is working great, is there a consquence for totem not getting updated?
If I take totem off the blacklist will I screw up the DVD playback?

thanks,
Jeff

totem may have been held back for quite a number of reasons - i doubt
its because EU blacklisted it from updates.

Totem was shown as 1.4.1-0ubuntu4 as installed and 1.4.3-0ubuntu1 as latest. When I forced the update it also said to be removed: totem-xine and to be installed: totem-gstreamer.

I forced the update with the package manager then ran easyubuntu again to put totem-xine back. Every thing is working fine now, update shows no updates required and easyubuntu shows totem grayed out.

Thanks for the great application.
