Upgrade to newer version of EasyUbuntu

Asked by Paul Beardsell

I have an older pre-3 release of EasyUbuntu which I used to enhance Breezy. Now I have upgraded to Dapper. How do I upgrade EasyUbuntu to the latest version? If easy (duh!) then I would like to keep my previous settings. Thanks for a great utility.

An auto update would be interesting.

I don't think there is a way to update EasyUbuntu without just simply "getting it back" via http://easyubuntu.freecontrib.org/get.html

Sorry if i'm completely wrong about this, I searched around a bit and the best I could find was someone requesting an AutoUpdate for EasyUbuntu (would be nice, wouldn't it?)

Thanks for your response. I've installed and run the new version.

EasyUbuntu should _also_ be available as a package to apt-get. The reason I use Ubuntu is because I used Debian and Ubuntu is based on Debian (why does it not say this on the packaging and on the login screen, by the way? Give credit where credit is due!) and the reason I used Debian was because of apt. I want to manage all packages thru apt. Make EasyUbuntu apt-gettable.

Easyubuntu cant be aptable, as it installs a whole stack of stuff thats
restricted.
As for advertising, its been discussed on debian devel lists. but thats
a bit irrelevent here :)
