Word overlapping

Asked by Paolo Scanferla

Hello there,

I've just started using dvisvgm, and I've encountered a strange issue where letters in the svg file overlap with each other (screenshot: http://postimg.org/image/471t6prt3/).

However, if I generate the svg with the no-font option, everything works. I was wondering if this was one of those svg fonts compatibility problems mentioned on the site (the issue presents itself in both Chromium and Inkscape, who might be the culprits), or if instead I missing a configuration option which solves the problem.

Thank you for your time
Paolo

Hi Paolo,

probably, it's an issue of the browsers you tested, but I can't say for sure without further information. Actually, Inkscape and Chrome don't support embedded <font> elements properly.
Did you try to open the file with other viewers to compare the results? Opera and the Squiggle viewer from the Apache Batik project have pretty complete font support. I suggest you try these applications too, in order to check if they render the text correctly.

Can you help with this problem?
