Read file from stdin ?

Asked by constantin on 2020-05-11

Is it somewhat possile to do backups from stdin ? I couldnt find anything related online.

I use duplicity to do backups of mysql, docker etc.

It would be great if it was possible to pipe the files to duplicity.

It would half the backup time and prevent unecessary read/writes on my ssd's.

what exactly are you trying to achieve? pipe a mysqldump into duplicity and restore it the same way? ..ede/duply.net

Yes, but it has been solved, i know duplicity only works with seekeable streams.
