no longer windows 32 bit?

Asked by Vic Pet

Hi,
This https://launchpad.net/drgeo/trunk/23.01 no longer offers binary for windows 32 bit version.
I conclude that since , when running the included DrGeo.bat, it produces the error:
" This version of C:\Users\..\DrGeo\VM\SqueakConsole.exe is not compatible with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need a x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the program, and then contact the software publisher".

Is that temporary or permanent?
If permanent, what can I do ? is it hard to get/make a 32 bit version myself?
(I'm new to smalltalk, know some programming but not a programmer)

I have downloaded the opensmalltalk VM for windows 32 bit from
https://github.com/OpenSmalltalk/opensmalltalk-vm/releases/download/202206021410/squeak.cog.spur_win32x86.zip
and unzipped it in the drgeo folder,
and then tried to open the drgeo.image in C:\Users\Vic\Downloads\DrGeo-windows-22.12a-beta\DrGeo\Resources\image

with:
- Squeak.exe (by double click then navigating to drgeo.image) : crashes immediately
- SqueakConsole.exe, by creating a .bat file similar to yours: doesn't work , in the cmd window it says could not open the image.

On the other hand, I am able to run Cuis smalltalk using this latest VM squeak.exe and latest Cuis image for windows 32.

What could be the issue ?

The DrGeo image is built for the 64 bits VM, its won't run with a 32bits VM.
You can build by yourself a DrGeo 32 bits image.

You can try these instructions, hopefully there are up to date:
https://bazaar.launchpad.net/~drgeo-developers/drgeo/trunk/view/head:/install.txt
