gradient fill for objects only allows black & grey color tones

Asked by giantkiller

I'm trying to gradient fill a 2" circle with red and orange color tone. However, there doesn't appear to be a way to change the default black and grey tones inside the object once gradient fill is selected. When I drag a color swatch in to the circle, the fill changes to that color but switches to "fill solid" (does not stay as gradient). Can you help?

To change the gradient, you will have to open the fill palette (in the shape inspector) and click on the control which should represent the gradient. Then a new panel will open and you normally will be able to edit the gradient.

Can you help with this problem?
