Confused about nightly builds package

Asked by Dr Colin J Cotter

Dear Dolfin team,
Apologies in advance if this is a silly question, my systems administration skills are somewhat weak.

I wanted to test out the manifolds stuff which was merged into trunk in revision 7291, so I installed the fenics nightly build packages (Ubuntu, Precise) following the instructions here
https://launchpad.net/~fenics-packages/+archive/fenics-dev
However, I didn't get what I expected because, for example, the "mesh" object in the dolfin Python package doesn't have an init_cell_orientations method.

The package versions are shown below:
cjc1@ae-gauss:~/$ wajig list fenics
ii fenics 1:1.1.0-1~ppa1~precise1 Automated Solution of Differential Equations
cjc1@ae-gauss:~/$ wajig list dolfin
ii dolfin-bin 1.1.0-1~ppa3~precise1 Executable scripts for DOLFIN
ii dolfin-doc 1.1.0-1~ppa3~precise1 Documentation and demo programs for DOLFIN
ii libdolfin1.1 1.1.0-1~ppa3~precise1 Shared libraries for DOLFIN
ii libdolfin1.1-dev 1.1.0-1~ppa3~precise1 Shared links and header files for DOLFIN
ii python-dolfin 1.1.0-1~ppa3~precise1 Python interface for DOLFIN
rc libdolfin0 0.9.11-2+bzr6097~ppa1~natty1 shared libraries for DOLFIN
rc libdolfin1.0 1.0.0-2+bzr7269~ppa1~precise1 shared libraries for DOLFIN

Do I have the right packages installed?

The packages in the fenics-dev PPA has not been updated in a while, so you'll find the most up-to-date packages in the main FEniCS PPA. It seems like this is what you already have.

Thanks Johannes Ring, that solved my question.
