Asked by Christoph Pohl

Dear FEniCS community,

I would like to participate in your development, and deepen my understanding of
the Finite Element Method. Currently, I'm studying Applied Mechanics at the
University of Technology Dresden (Germany), where I'm working on
FEM-BEM-coupling for magneto-mechanics.

For the moment, for an easy introduction, I'd like to get to know the codebase
and the people around it, and brush up my C++ skills. Maybe you could give me a
pointer to an easy bug I could have a look at?

Also, do you plan on taking part in the Google Summer of Code in 2013?

Cheers
Christoph Pohl

Hello Christoph,

Welcome to the community! Be sure to check out
http://fenicsproject.org/contributing/ .

Here are a few bugs that should be simple to get into:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/dolfin/+bug/1048218 (fix suggested, needs testing)
https://bugs.launchpad.net/dolfin/+bug/1065977
https://bugs.launchpad.net/dolfin/+bug/948361
https://bugs.launchpad.net/dolfin/+bug/1065005

We should probably add an easy to fix label.

We have discussed GSOC and I've been a mentor the last three years for
other orgs, but we never seemed to get a proposal out the door.
