grad(f)(x) evaluation using evaluate_basis_derivatives

There's been a lot of discussion about evaluating grad(f) efficiently in dolfin (without using project). How would you do it in python using "evaluate_basis_derivatives"?

f = Function(Q)
e = Q.element()
e.evaluate_basis_derivatives(....) How do you use this?

When using evaluate_basis_derivatives

RuntimeError: // Function evaluate_basis_derivatives not generated (compiled with -fno-evaluate_basis_derivatives)

Do I need to recompile ufc differently?
