when starting an app from the launcher, a new instance is created

Asked by nhasian

i accidentally removed the terminal app from docky so i re-added by dragging and dropping a terminal launcher from the desktop to docky. Now I have the terminal launcher in docky but when i click on it, it creates a new icon on docky. one that shows that the terminal is running in addition to the original launcher on docky. the same thing occurs when i added Google's Chrome web browser to docky. it launches the web browser just fine, but then has two icons for it the launcher and the running program. how to fix?

I'm seeing something similar with docky compiled from bzr on the latest Fedora Rawhide. Launchers open the apps, but the windows are represented by blank window icons with simple "Maximize|Minimize|Quit" options on the right-click menu. So far, gwibber is the only application whose launcher behaves as expected. If I launch a terminal, whether from docky, do, or the application menu, it shows up as a separate item on docky *with the correct icon*, but the icon changes to the blank icon when another window is opened. I just upgraded to rawhide, so I assumed that the behavior may be related to changes in the current development versions of gnome/metacity. The same revision of docky is behaving properly on my karmic desktop.

I had the same problem with Docky, when you click on an icon,
it creates a new icon, right-click the new icon, and select 'Attach to Docky', or something similar.
I hope it helps.

Sorry, I forgot something. When you selected 'Attach to Docky' or something similar,
you can drag and drop the old icon away. The new icon should work correct.

Can you help with this problem?
