Clock plugin showing wrong time?

Asked by hasinul islam

Hi, the problem I'm having is that the Docky clock's time is, for some reason, exactly 1 hour behind the system time I've set in my machine.

My system time-zone is Asia/Dhaka, which should be GMT + 7.00 from this June. Previously it was GMT + 6.00. This change is permanent, it's not a daylight-saving thing (yeah, i know, our government's stupid!). Ubuntu knows this, and changed accordingly. Docky, it seems, does not.

So Docky Clock is showing the old GMT + 6.00 time, while I can see the system time is set up correctly. I can't set the Docky clock manually, from anywhere.

I'm using Ubuntu Karmic Koala, and using docky version [Docky 2.0.0-Alpha-1docky-2.0~bzr617] (copied from the "about" box).

I have the same issue.

I'm in Perth/Australia which should be GMT +8.00. We temporarily (for 3 years) had a trial of summer daylight savings time at GMT +9.00. Unfortunately the trial has now ended and it was decided not to continue with summer daylight savings time.

Ubuntu is showing the correct time (karmic, 64 bit) however the clock is incorrect on docky. I have tested this on multiple computers (jaunty, 32 and 64 bit) with the same result. Docky is Docky 2.0.0-Alpha-1 docky-2.0~bzr655.

Thanks

You are most likely experiencing a bug with Mono's timezone data. Or possibly Ubuntu (though from the sounds of it, that is fine). Please file a bug upstream with Mono so they can update it.

Can you help with this problem?
