Docky looks and acts differently on two laptops

Docky looks and acts differently on two laptops

My Docky setup on both laptops is the same:
No helpers
Just the trash docklet
Air theme
3D background
autohide

Laptop 1 - Intel CPU, NVIDIA graphics, running Fedora 20, Gnome

Issue: Docky looks as it should, but the icons do no grow as they are moused over

Laptop 2 - AMD APU (ATI), running ubuntu 14.04, Gnome

Issue: Docky looks and acts as it should, except for a dark grey bit that sticks out the left side of the dock (it does not look like the dock background

So my questions are why Docky looks and acts differently on my laptops, and if I can do anything to make them the same. Any ideas?

Cheers,

Dave

Fedora removes the zoom capability, due to patent restrictions.

Most likely your ATI card has a graphics bug and you are seeing an artifact in what should be a transparent region. This is pretty common on ATI cards.

Thanks for replying Robert.
I guess I'll have to live with the differences.
