In case of multiple windows of an application, current focused app should be highlighted in the list

Asked by Kumar Aatish

When two (or more) windows of the same application are open (for e.g. browser) it is difficult to realize in an instant as to which window is currently focused. In order to focus on the other window, we need to read the title in the list. This becomes more difficult when the names of both these titles are quite similar.
I think that the current focused window should be highlighted in the list. This can be done by simply making the title bold or of different color. In whatever way it is done, it should be easily distinguishable.
Do you think it is a good idea?

Our solution is to not use that menu at all. We recommend using your mouse's scroll wheel over the icon and simply scrolling through all the open windows until you get to the one you want. This is much faster and requires no reading on your part.

I use a laptop, and the scroll area is not very convenient to use. What about people who do not have a scroll wheel on their mouse?

Also, I just found out about the possibility to scroll to select your window by reading your comment. I think it is a good idea, I would need a mouse though for this, but I guess that is ok.
However, this was not very intuitive for me to figure this out. Is it possible to include a tip for first time users to suggest scrolling?

I'm the lead developer and I also (exclusively!) use a laptop. It seems fine to me.

We agree on the discoverability issue, but haven't come up with an acceptable solution for that yet. For now word of mouth is all we have.
