When an icon cannot be located...

...Docky seems to go for a very low res icon of a window. Where is this icon located, and is it possible to simply replace the icon with a higher res copy?

No. If it is using the window's icon then that means Docky was not able to match that window to a launcher (.desktop file) and thus there is no way to change what icon shows.

The proper fix is to figure out (and fix, if possible) why it can't match the window to a launcher.
