Can the icon title be shown?

Hi

I'm wondering if there is a way to show the icon title by default, e.g. under the icon. I mean not only when hovering.

The reason is that I now have two docks, one on the bottom with launchers and active application etc, and one to the left with my bookmarks, recent documents. The dock on the left now basically contains a long column of identical folder-icons; I have to hover over each one of the to find the one I'm looking for. It would be nice to see the folder names below each icon.
Would this be possible?

You can color those folders to make them easier to distinguish (this is what I do). Hold down SHIFT and mouse scroll over it.
